After purchasing this Kiawah Island home, the new owner wanted to give the house a complete overhaul.
Beginning in the family room, the updated space features a shiplap accent wall with a new fireplace, flanked by custom, built-in bookcases. Wood-look wallpaper gives the space a “beachy” feel.
In the kitchen, a new peninsula island gives the homeowner some additional prep space as well as casual seating. New cabinetry with upper cabinets in “Gray Matter” and base cabinets in “Cityscape,” Cambria “Torquay” countertops, and a mosaic tile backsplash give the room an updated, modern look.
By eliminating a short hallway and closets located between the master bath and master bedroom we were able to expand the footprint of the master bath. The once bright green bathroom now feels much more elegant bathed in creams and grays. The new space features a double vanity with Cambria countertops in “Newport” and cabinets in “Mega Greige,” a curbless shower with bench seat and new linen closet.
The powder room got a total facelift with new ombre mosaic wall tile, vessel sink with Cambria platform and new paint and floors.
Finally, by stealing some square footage from the massive front porch, we were able to give the homeowner a new laundry room, conveniently located off of the master suite, while still retaining a spacious front porch for relaxing.
